5 Things To Do On A Rainy Day
The rain can often put a damper on our plans, quite literally. Like me, most adults dislike the thought of a gloomy, rainy day but kids on the other hand, now that’s a completely different story. Where adults might see a rainy day as a boring day spent in the house in front of the TV or catching up on the housework, kids will see it as an opportunity to go play outside in their waterproof’s and wellies!
Whether you’re looking for fun activities do out of the comfort of your own home or are looking for places to go if you don’t want to be stuck in the house, here are a few ideas to make your decision a lot easier.
These ideas are good for families, groups of friends or even to do by yourself and relax - because when do you ever get time to relax?
Go to the local cinema.
Why not escape the gloomy weather and go and see a new movie at your local cinemas? You can take the kids to watch the latest children’s movie, you could go with friends and watch the latest thriller or if you want some time to yourself, you could even go alone and finally watch that movie you’ve been dying to see.
Bake some delicious treats.
Weather the storm with some freshly baked goodies. Kids would love to get messy and have a full-blown baking day or why not make them on your own and prepare some sweet snacks for the new Netflix series you're about to dive into? Either way, they are going to be delicious when you can finally dunk your freshly made chocolate chip cookies into a pint of icy cold milk, YUM!
Visit a trampoline park.
Everyone is guaranteed to have a good time at a trampoline park. It saves the kids from sitting around and piling up all that excess energy, so why not get out of the house and channel their energy into doing something fun that you can enjoy too? Not only does it give you something to do on a rainy day but it also helps to keep you all active!
Make some friendly competition between one another! Grandparents, parents, friends and kids of all ages can play alongside one another, so get everyone involved in this rainy day activity and go have some fun bowling. It’s an activity that is bound to put a smile on everyone’s face and doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.
Enjoy a movie day.
Last but certainly not least, my favourite! Grab plenty of popcorn, cosy up in front of the TV and make your very own cinema, all without leaving your front room! Queue up some classics, let the kids add a few favourites and even mix in a few TV shows to add a bit of variety to your selection. There you have it, your very own marathon screening. Fetch some cosy blankets to snuggle under and you’re sorted.
We hope this has given you some ideas on what you can do when those horrid rainy days come! As well as the above, rainy days are also perfect for doing a bit of housework.
